Who is in charge ?

During the camp, experienced leaders in pairs or groups of 3, depending on the size of the camp, will supervise the volunteers day-to-day. There is also support and technical and professional advice on site from cathedral and church staff, and of course support from Cathedral Camps and CSV.

Who are the leaders?

Leaders are former volunteers with first-hand experience and full training in leading volunteer groups. They are all responsible young people under the age of 30.

Where do volunteers live?

Sometimes volunteers stay in shared single-sex accommodation within the church/cathedral buildings. Where this kind of accommodation is not available they may be sleeping in nearby hostels. Washing and shower facilities are always provided and are normally shared. All meals are prepared by volunteers in a self catering kitchen facility.

What support and back-up do volunteers have while on camp?

Leaders and Assistant Leaders are on hand at all times to support volunteers throughout the camps. There are also pastoral cathedral/church staff on hand. Cathedral Camps staff will, at most, be only a phone call away.
